Wong Hong Sze
Wong Hong Sze is Regional
Director for Garner International Singapore. He has special
interests in manufacturing, oil, chemicals and gas, health
sciences, banking, fashion, food sciences, and the knowledge
industries.
Hong Sze has over 30 years experience with leading
multinational companies in general management with special
expertise in HR. He worked for Shell for 17 years and has
held portfolios ranging from recruitment, career management,
remuneration and regional training and development. He has
also worked for ICI Asia Pacific as organizational
capability director spanning 15 countries for 13 years. He
pioneered the staffing of startup companies in the PRC,
India and Vietnam.
Hong Sze was also managing director of ICI Singapore and
held bottom line accountability for Singapore, Vietnam and
Myanmar.
More recently, Hong Sze took up a senior role in a regional
management consultancy specializing in executive coaching,
corporate culture change, leadership succession, corporate
governance and organization effectiveness. His clients
included government agencies, profit and non profit
organizations in Singapore and the Asia region.
In the course of his career, Hong Sze worked and lived in
Singapore and the UK, and spent blocks of time in the PRC,
India, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Hong Sze studied at Cambridge University at undergraduate
and the East West Centre, University of Hawaii at
postgraduate level. He holds a BA and MA in organizational
behaviour and has had professional executive coaching
training. He lectures part time at MBA level on leadership
succession. He has participated in many international HR and
management forums and is a sought after speaker, most
recently in an international conference in Shanghai attended
by more than 200 companies.
