Paul Wakelin

Paul Wakelin, M.A. (CANTAB); a former FRICS; AFA; FRGS; FInstD is a graduate from Cambridge University and has been a resident in Singapore for 33 years. His association with S E Asia dates back to 1963 when he first took up his career with the British Foreign Office (Ministry of Overseas Development) based in North Borneo. He worked in the Public Sector for 12 years and was seconded to Sabah Land & Surveys Dept; thence to the New Hebrides Government (now Vanuatu) in the S W Pacific; and finally to Uganda, Kenya, Zambia and Lesotho in East and Southern Africa in the early 1970's.

In 1974 Paul returned to S E Asia and Singapore in the private sector. He has been a Consultant in Quality Assurance and Quality Control in the Oil and Gas Industry and in HRD organizing Technical Seminars around the region. He has provided Management Training Services and since 1989 Executive Search Services.

Paul has 17 years experience in Executive Search at a senior level in the region. His company, Berkeley Executive Resources Pte Ltd represented MSL of UK and was renamed Berkeley MSL International Pte Ltd. It was sold off to two of the partners in 1996. A new company Kimberley Search & Selection was set up in Feb 1997. A joint venture Kimberley-ESI (S) Pte Ltd with Dr Allen Zecha of Hawaii followed in 2003. It provided Executive Search services to clients in the S E Asian region specializing in the Oil and Gas Industry, Banking, Biotech, Construction and Engineering. The company has now merged its business with Garner International through which Paul now offers his Executive Search consultancy as Regional Director. 

Paul is a Permanent Resident of Singapore and has two sons.
