| The Position: |
|
New Sr. EHS Counsel to oversee EHS legal matters in the Asia/Pacific region and will be based either in Shanghai or Singapore.
- Will report to Sr. EHS Counsel for EU and Asia/Pacific located in Geneva.
- Will advise facilities and the businesses in China with respect to day-to-day EHS compliance issues, assist with transactions and investigations and interact with regulators and effectively manage outside counsel as needed on larger projects.
- Will also oversee outside counsel working with facilities in Singapore.
- Will provide legal support for projects in Asia/Pacific, such as construction of chemical and tire cord facilities in China.
- Will work closely with EHS Paralegal, Regional Operations Manager, Regional EHS Manager, Site Managers and Site EHS Personnel.

| The Ideal Candidate: |
- 5+ years of practicing as a lawyer in the regulatory and commercial field at a leading law firm or in a large company and EHS regulatory experience desirable.
- Experience dealing with complex regulatory regimes.
- Fluent in written and verbal English and Mandarin.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing business priorities.
- Experience working closely with facility/operations personnel.
- Law degree from a well regarded law school.
- Some travel required.

- Attended college or university in the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore or Australia.
- Worked for multinational corporation on regulatory and commercial matters.
- Legal advice on construction of large projects in China.
- Transactional experience, including EHS issues.
- Interest or experience in chemistry/engineering.
